It is imperative to note that WBVV, unlike regular power plates or non medical grade vibration devices, only moves vertically, and operates within a tested and therapeutic range of oscillation frequency, g force acceleration, and the displacement and time taken to travel vertically upwards and downwards are completely equally balanced rhythms.  This is what makes it therapeutic, whereas other forms of haphazard, random vibration may cause problems.

How It Works : Painless Exercise

Vibration Therapy is based on the science of gravity, and how it affects our bodies. Many exercises use this same science – jump rope, running, basketball. A Vibration Therapy machine simulates this activity by using mechanical force to push the body against gravity, and then lets gravity take over as the body drops.

As the human body is moved up and down like this at a vibrating frequency, our muscles naturally work to accommodate for it, and over an extended time, they will have worked as hard as any normal exercise.

Unlike traditional exercise, however, WBVV does not pose any risk in terms of landing impact (when you land from a jump, which can damage areas like knees), nor is there a need to physically move, lift or interact with objects that may cause accidents. There is no need to support heavy weights, or to be wary about moving or falling.

Where It Started

It is hard to believe such an effortless way to exercise is real. However, it does, and WBVV has actually been used for years for professional exercise and therapy.

The modern vibration machine was invented by Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, who is famous for inventing corn flakes!

Dr Kellogg was a medical doctor, health activist and inventor. One of his inventions was a vibrating chair that was the world’s first vibration therapy machine.

It was many years later that vibration machines were pushed to the forefront of technology.

During the Cold War era, Russian scientists improved and developed vibration therapy machines for their astronauts to train against muscle atrophy.

The zero gravity of space made astronauts lose muscle and bone density. By using vibration training, Russian astronauts could out-stay their American counterparts in space for far longer.
